Most Common Invaders

Carpenter Ants

Carpenter Ants are a social pest, meaning they create large colonies. They find dead, decayed wood to start their nest.

If you start to see a noticeable increase in large black ants in your home, there may be a nest in or around your home. Another sign of a possible carpenter ant nest is a buildup of sawdust in one area, meaning they are chewing the wood and spitting it out at the entry point.

Carpenter ants are not something you want to let continue to nest inside your home. We offer a one-time treatment or a continual prevention plan with the Home Protection Plan.

Carpenter Bees

Typically starting around early spring, carpenter bees are solitary bees that like to nest in your wooden structures. This means that they make a single nest with one male and one female. The female will drill into the wood and start to make cells to start laying her eggs. The male will guard the nest against invaders and are typically the ones you see swarming around you.

If the problem is left alone for years, a small inconvenience can turn into a major structural issue. We offer a one-time treatment or a continual prevention plan with the Home Protection Plan.

Tiny Ants

There are many kinds of tiny ants in the area, such as pavement ants, soil ants, and sugar ants. Typically, they nest somewhere right outside of your home, and are coming inside looking for your sugary foods to sustain them.

We offer a one-time treatment or a continual prevention plan with the Home Protection Plan.

Spiders

There are many kinds of spiders in the area, but most of them act in a very similar manner. Typically entering through your foundation, they prefer moist areas such as bathrooms, flooded basements, and soil.

We offer a one-time treatment or a continual prevention plan with the Home Protection Plan.

Yellowjackets

Yellowjackets are a social wasp that invade your home and nest inside walls, sills, or any opening in the house. Unfortunately, a lot of the time they are hard to spot until they have a large nest.

The last thing you want is the nest to start expanding and for them to start infiltrating the interior of your home. We offer a one-time treatment or a continual prevention plan with the Home Protection Plan.

Termites

Termites infest your house from the ground level and feed on wood or other dead plant matter. Termite workers are an off-white color, while the swarmers are black with long wings and are generally seen in the early spring.

Mohawk Valley Pest Control utilize the Advance Termite Bait Stations. These stations are monitored and maintained during the season to locate and eliminate nearby termite colonies. We also offer liquid treatments.
